When: Mondays, 3:00–4:00 PM
Dates: Mondays that are regular school days during November, December, and January. If we do not have school on Monday, we will play on Tuesdays.
Location: Room 200, Health Sciences
Chess Club is an opportunity for students to learn, practice, and enjoy the game of chess with other students.
Students do not need to know how to play chess to join! We will learn the game together and work on improving our skills throughout the club.
During each session, students will:
Learn the rules and strategies of chess
Practice chess skills and problem-solving
Play games against other students using Chess.com
Play several games during each session
Learn from and help other players
Challenge themselves to improve their chess skills
Students will use Chess.com during Chess Club. Each student will need access to a Chromebook or phone that can connect to the internet.
Students must be picked up at 4:00 PM unless they have another approved arrangement.
Students are expected to:
Follow school rules and directions.
Treat other players with respect.
Use technology appropriately.
Be a good sport whether they win or lose.
Help create a positive and welcoming chess environment
